Members of the Tasmanian Branch of Religions for Peace are organising a
forum to share with the Tasmanian community some of the depth and richness
of the recent Parliament of the World's Religions convened in Melbourne. It
will be held on Regatta Day, Monday 8 February 2010, from 1.00pm to 5.00pm
in the Conference room at the Hobart Town Hall.
We have invited Rabbi Jonathan Keren-Black to represent the Jewish tradition
and Greenfaith Australia and Ms Azmeena Hussain, a Muslim lady, who was a
Youth patron and a representative on the Parliamentary Planning Committee,
both of them from Melbourne, to be the Keynote speakers. In particular
during the forum, Rabbi Keren-Black is interested in discussing the
preParliamentary event Walking humbly: A Journey to the Murray and the
possible establishment of a branch of Greenfaith in Tasmania. Rev Rosalind Terry is going to speak from a Christian perspective.
The Parliament was such a wonderful experience we wanted to share some of the
highlights with people here who could not attend.
If you have any enquiries, please email me at sussfam@bigpond.com.
