SHARING ART GARDEN and FESTIVAL OF OCEAN MOUNTAIN ARTS, vicinity of BOROBUDUR TEMPLE, Central Java, Indonesia from 20 to 29 APRIL 2012
The program is open to the public and free
The connection between art and religiosity, art and archaeology, and art and mythos; especially in temples and heritage sites, is a cultural treasure that contains a variety of philosophies, knowledges, customs, and behaviors of communities in the past. The forming of a sacred place very much took into account that its particular site was a place that could connect humans, nature and God and also the effects of the light, seasons, and socio-economics from that region. Hence, temples and heritage sites with their art, cosmologies, spatial layout and mythos store meanings and dimensions that are very valuable because they are a result of long traditions that involve various cultural knowledges and the sensitivity of a society toward a cultural environment. Historical sites can also be a source for mutually studying and experiencing the various properties of space, time, and conditions that can also be a creative source in this era.
Thus, Padepokan Lemah Putih; Nusantara Arts Education Institute; Dharma Nature Time; Rempah Rumah Karya; Borobudur vicinity communities; QuantumConvex International and several individuals involved in cultural heritage conservation are inspired to offer SHARING ART GARDEN and FESTIVAL OF OCEAN MOUNTAIN ARTS in the vicinity of the BOROBUDUR TEMPLE in Central Java, Indonesia FROM 20 TO 29 APRIL 2012 prior to Waisak Day 6 May 2012.
