The anti Christ should not be the cause of any pain or worry to sincere believers in the one supreme God. If God is in fact the Almighty, the all-Powerful then the so called anti christ can have no real effect on the sincere believer. The word "Christ" is a synonym for the Manifestation of God to humanity. It of course includes Jesus the man as imbued with the Divine Spirit of that one supreme God. But there have been numerous Manifestations over the ages, for example, Muhammad and Abraham. They are all spiritually one as they all come from the one supreme God - "before Abraham, I am". To reject the Manifestation is to reject God, to become an anti-Christ.
"Anyone who violently and determinedly sought to oppose the Manifestation could be called an "anti-Christ," "
(Shoghi Effendi, High Endeavours - Messages to Alaska, p. 69)
We have a choice to turn towards God or to reject God. If we choose to reject that one supreme God and His Manifestation and turn to the idols of our own fancy or imagination, we are rejecting God as revealed through His Manifestation. The athiests do this among many others. They cannot cause us pain if we are firm in our beliefs, as we are each responsible for our own spiritual progress. We of course can pray for them that they might change and become spiritually enlightened, but the choice is theirs. Of course they need to experience God and His Manifestation, but we each have been endowed with free will to so decide or otherwise, otherwise we could not be held spiritually accountable.
As a Baha'i I believe in progressive revelation from God acccording to the needs of each age through a chain of Manifestations. Each of them proclaims the future advent of the next Manifestation. I believe that Baha'u'llah is the Manifestation of God for this global age.
My very best wishes to you

Dear Graham,
Do you think that the "forces and beliefs that deny the existence or the relevance of the one supreme God" although causing pain and worry to the religious, may actually be useful in redefining God? Some say that (although atheism is less defensible than agnosticism (holding that there is no God as opposed to holding that there is no way to know whether there is a God or not and therefore the subject matter is not up for discussion...belief or disbelief)) atheists are really theists who have the need for a direct experience of God but who have yet to have that experience.

In other words, it is everything that draws humanity away from that one supreme God. It can be expressed in terms of our idle facies and imaginations that we create in place of God, the man-made "idols" in their various forms. In this modern age it is represented by the forces of disbelief, to be found in the many and various substitute "gods" such as materialism, consumerism, secularism, marxism, racism, athiesm, etc etc. These are the forces of the self and self-centredness that dictate that we do not need to rely on the one supreme God and to place our trust in that God. In the extreme it claims that we do not even have to believe in that one supreme God, that such a God is itself a product of people's own imagination. When belief reaches to that extreme we can say that the anti-christ is present.

An interesting "requirement" to the emergence of another Teacher for humanity is that of the more fundamentalist churches of Christians, the requirement that before the return of Christ, there must be the coming of the antichrist, who will, in their opinions, seek to mislead people into following "him" with promises of peace but who will really be Satan incarnate. There will no doubt be various enhancements of this inadequate statement, but the essence will be the same.
In the tradition called the "Ageless Wisdom Teachings", which may be easily researched in the material posted at share-international.org, the material in the Bible describing the antichrist refers to the time of Nero. The antichrist force is the destructive aspect of God, which is released from time to time to break down the old order and therefore make way for a new dispensation or order. This force was released through Nero at the end of Roman times in order to make way for Christendom and the Teacher for that new age, the Age of Pisces (the constellation symbolized by the fish...used to symbolize Christianity in the iconography of the time), Jesus the Christ. 2000 or so years later, at
the beginning of this new Age of Aquarius (the constellation symbolized by the "Water Carrier") this antichrist force was released and worked through Hitler and the Axis Powers, in Japan and a few militarists in Italy, in WWII. It was at the end of that war, in June 1945, that Maitreya announced that He was returning to the world to teach the principles upon which humanity will build a new civilization based upon the Brotherhood of Man.
So the antichrist has come and gone, defeated by the Allies in WWII. The Forces of Evil (which are the forces of materiality) on this planet have been defeated...not destroyed, but defeated. There is a very complete discussion of this in Benjamin Creme's book: "The Reappearance of The Christ, and The Masters of Wisdom", beginning on page 101.

May your inspired words lead us to learn more about Baha'u'llah.
We do not envy anyone the position you place Baha'u'llah in.
It may be the case that there will be many people who will all arise in similar roles in different cultures.
If, indeed, they are all all true manifestations of the one spirit that guides us all, then they will make peace amongst themselves and help us all to unify the world.
We praise the emergence of Baha'u'llah as an omen of the imminence of world peace.
Together, we may hope to share enlightenment and to develop the means to achieve a world based on higher spiritual principles, principles which will ensure liberty, peace, justice, security, diversity and abundance for all people, everywhere, with no one left behind.
Thank you.

I know and call people who are atheists my friends. God has the same regard for them as God does have for me. What we call ourselves and what we consider about God is of the least importance. That we are confused is obvious. It means nothing as we all walk with God. Let us consider people as they are and give them the grace that God avails to each of us.

I do think a better way to consider God is as omnipotent. Almighty congers so much gloom and doom, in my mind, that I do not even want to know that god. God holds me in the same regard as dirt and empty space. I could not be more more content with that regard. Am I more important than some other component of creation? God exists in all of creation and there is no escape. What more do we want? How important do we need to be? Let us accept that God holds everything in the same value and there are not favorites.

The Tao
Ch 59 - For governing a country wellthere is nothing better than moderation.
The mark of a moderate man
is freedom from his own ideas.
Tolerant like the sky,
all-pervading like sunlight,
firm like a mountain,
supple like a tree in the wind,
he has no destination in view
and makes use of anything
life happens to bring his way.
Nothing is impossible for him.
Because he has let go,
he can care for the people's welfare
as a mother cares for her child.
Ch 60- Governing a large country
is like frying a small fish.
You spoil it with too much poking.
Center your country in the Tao
and evil will have no power.
Not that it isn't there,
but you'll be able to step out of its way.
Give evil nothing to oppose
and it will disappear by itself.
61 - When a country obtains great power,
it becomes like the sea:
all streams run downward into it.
The more powerful it grows,
the greater the need for humility.
Humility means trusting the Tao,
thus never needing to be defensive.
A great nation is like a great man:
When he makes a mistake, he realizes it.
Having realized it, he admits it.
Having admitted it, he corrects it.
He considers those who point out his faults
as his most benevolent teachers.
He thinks of his enemy
as the shadow that he himself casts.
If a nation is centered in the Tao,
if it nourishes its own people
and doesn't meddle in the affairs of others,
it will be a light to all nations in the world.

Could it be that man's habit of crisis, of competition, of stress as constants in life are triggers for the
natural disasters which appear to be increasing in the world? According to some, it is so. Looking around the world, we see wars and wars, economic crises for everyday people while "special" people become ever richer and don't know what to do with all their money, and then we see increasing earthquakes, huge and violent storms, and the specter of nuclear disaster as power companies increase their desire to build more nuclear plants.

We are quite certain that humanity's poor cognitive and emotional habits are influencing global weather patterns for the worse, including the underground weather patterns in the magma not very far below us. Most people forget this is an almost entirely liquid planet, only the very thin 'crust' appears 'solid'.
It's very easy to disrupt the crust...
We cover how humans are impacting weather and seismic behavior in part eleven of our Future History, Survival...
| Our complete future history (to date) is here: Our Future History – How the Earth Made Peace |
Essentially, all people participate in manifesting reality collectively throught the human collective consciousness and their consensus realities.
With manifestation, fear attracts things to be fearful of by the law of attraction.
Because people are being taught to be more fearful, the collective fear of humanity is rising; this fear needs to find focal points to manifest...
Weather systems are very susceptible to unfocused energy; consequently, our weather systems, including geophysical weather systems, are being energized by our increasing collective anxieties and fears.
For some evidence of how this connection between people's hearts, minds, and weather systems really works try examining Dr Emoto's research with imprinting water with thought and emotion.
Our atmospheric weather systems are all about water...
Our seismic weather systems are fluidly dynamic as well...
Fortunately, there is still time to learn to be peaceful and put all of our fears to rest...
No fear!
Enjoy!
Blessed be...

I did enjoy what you wrote. I also feel in the ocean there are many currents some moving in the opposite direction, but if we look at the whole ocean the currents are viewed as one in harmony with each other and an intrinsic part of the ocean as a whole. This unity not only affects the ocean, but the earth and the atmosphere around it. We tend to see ocean currents as individual things and barriers, but in reality they are interconnected ecosystems and are continuous. Our individual lives are also like the ocean currents because they tell of one history that is interwoven, and in this knowledge that we are part of something larger we find contentment, satisfaction and happiness in life.
The ocean currents play an integral role in our planet's activities. They are the earth's circulatory system moving constantly under the influence of the sun. There is an interdependence of ocean currents and atmospheric conditions even if they are moving in opposite directions because they determine the many climatic flows around our globe. The oceans are our world's largest solar collector and distributor of the sun's awesome energy, thereby being a weather maker. They are wonderful expressions of joy that not only give us warmth and pleasure, but also inspire a wonderful awareness within.
Cause and effect is the connector that not only unites the ocean currents and the weather, but also unites opposites in the world and in the psyche. An effect is something that does not make itself, but has a power behind it, causing it to be. Everything we see, touch, taste, feel or hear is an effect. What we see with the physical senses comes from that which we do not see. I feel the solution to worldly conflict, and the very thing that the conscious mind is longing for is unity. Unity gives a person the total view of cause and effect, giving the mind an inkling of the creative act and its significance.
