Well said Swati and Chanchal,

"Conscience" is a vital must for us to have resource to if we are to be guided "rigthly" by universal principles of moral and ethical values that assist/apply for all in our world. Like intuition, conscience is a higher faculty of consciousness that we all can have resourse to - it all depends on the quality of our personal mind, if it is bent the right way to take heed from conscience when it imposes upon us. As I like to call them, "conscience and intuition are the agents of God's Consciousness" - imposing upon us all in the appropriate time and place. To ignore conscience when it imposes upon us (not to be misunderstood by fleeting opinions/questions of personal mind) is one way to continually land in trouble by direction of our ego. Conscience (like intuition) is most direct upon us. For example, we all know when we are about to tell a lie. And this compuction upon us is conscience, and if we have time to do so, we can correct our self by conscience, to not let that lie escape out to others by our words and actions.

So yes, conscience (like intuition - immediate knowing) is a very great key and resource in our life if we are to rightly distinguish these universal principles between right and wrong in our life, and life in general for us all and for the greater good of all.

In my opinion Moral teaching is very important especially in the formative years of children...when the children are innocent and still open to be moulded ....It gives them an idea of how to differentiate between the rights and wrongs and to listen to the voice of their conscience.. as they grow older and mature they learn to think more independently and are free to make their choices.
