Wow this one became a group therapy session. Even though this site is dedicated to interfaith dialogue it seems humans have a great capacity for holding up the yard stick to one another even while standing under a banner of truce. Oh no I am doing it too!! JK :) GPDC you are a great host to your fellow humans and I have enjoyed your commentary within this thread.
In regards to the exchange between my wife and Mr. Spencer, you both are certainly saying the same thing. Being created in his image, the pain and suffering we go through is a part of that perfect design. The capacity to feel hurt by our emotions and others is not a flaw it is a gift from the Gods. Perhaps there is nothing more quintessential to being huamn than learning by trial and error and the courage that comes with it. The path of the righteous man delves straight into the den of liars and theives because his soul compells him to not just survive, but to also remove the fangs from those who would do harm to the innocent. I do intend for this to be intrepreted in a way that would imply that the rightousess some how elevates you above your fellow man, but rather by removing fangs I mean taking it into your own hands to remove the fog from eyes that are clouded by hate. This is the honored duty of all those who choose the path of true salvation. Salvation is not something attained for ones self but rather attained for the sake of others. Mr. Mystic Tourist I feel as though you have said this before but in other words.

Thank you kindly for saying that, Paul. Very nice. You present just as wise and sincere as your dear wife, Cristen. It would seem you both greatly rub off one another, as far as spiritual compassion and realization/understanding are concerened...

About Suffering & Hardship
Suffering and hardship is the true-genuine human "conditioner" to allow us to be in a sincere reflective state of vulnerability and exposure to be opened up to experience and realize the other side of life – The Impersonal. The bigger and greater things about life, reality, and ultimately to meekly open us up to union with God. Although it may not seem to be to the immediate eye, there is a very real working grace to the state of suffering and hardship.
So you see, I have far more time and compassion for those who do life tough and work it out, rather than those who live in luxury and have the time to work it out. The former is far greater the innocent virtue. The latter is mere selfish indulgence. The former is the real saint, the latter falls short of that big time.
