All elitism (social and spiritual) from the majority causes the suffering and dividing of all else to go without, to be left behind and forgotten about. It is elitism, not suffering itself, that causes all suffering and problems in the world. Why? Because the privileged, lavish elite have the means to end our world's sufferings, or enhance it, depending on the spiritual/social bent of these selfish indulgent few. Speaking from the humane ethical mystic in me, only until elitism becomes standard for everyone, only then will I rightfully partake of that lavish indulgent way of refined life. Never will I partake of this world's social and spiritual elitism - until it becomes equal status for all - otherwise my good spiritual conscience towards unified compassion and the well-being of all others equally would definitely get the better of me for doing so over others who suffer in a less state and go without. Why do you think Christ so very greatly despised the elitist and lavish indulgent ways of the establishment? Because they kept privileges (what were the right of all) to themself and only for the few they favoured. The Master knew very well, that, as we are all God's chosen people, we all "equally" deserve (socially and spiritually) the good and well life - every single one of us. For this reason above all, Jesus cared far more for those who needed it the most and would listen to one who knew better for all equally. That is why He stated, "the first shall be last and the last shall be first." Why? Because the poor and suffering need it first and foremost to restore/rebalance equality in Life, both socially and spiritually.
"We are all in 'It' together."

Permalink Reply by Mystic Tourist on October 11, 2011 at 2:15am The compelling test of true Christian Faith is to have faith in the personal Christ as well as the mystical Christ. Regarding all true teachings and holy scripture (He gave us), it is always about the divine sacred relationship between the immediate (in)to the Absolute, beyond all differences and prejudices (of suffering and contempt). Mystically, Jesus taught "rightfully" according to the situation at the time and place, always to restore balance and peace. Even if that was done most bluntly and directly at times, it was done no less rightfully to the situation and circumstance, for the greater good of all.
I place no confidence in scripture as being anything other than written words. They are known to be written by persons other than Jesus, so they are not his teachings. They are meant to allude to what he taught and they do. When considering the person of Jesus it is meant that we should consider this person as our self and behave accordingly. That is of course my personal interpretation and is intended to inform, not to offend.

Permalink Reply by Tiffany Buchanan on October 12, 2011 at 7:58am That was really Lovely, Tiffany. Thank you for expressing that. Very inspiring and hopeful indeed.
Blessings to you too.
Indeed we are reflexively inter-connected and inter-dependent. Jesus illuminates the Way by bowing to wash the feet of another. I live in a nation where 1% of the population maintain control over more than 80% of all resources and the history of my own family is that my father was in his 20's when the Civil Rights Act passed. Change and healing is coming because the time of Love (1 John 4:8) is here and indeed Love never fails. Elites will always create systems and bureaucracy to maintain their status and power through socially constructed legitimized ways, however the ebb and flow of society ALWAYS eventually moves in the direction of rightness, this is the law of the cosmos. Blessings Spencer.
