For most of us out there, to blindly presume (immediate or otherwise) that a person who has encountered psychosis cannot just as easily (disposition wise) encounter genuine spiritual/mystical experiences is careless uniformed psycho-spiritual prejudice and discrimination of/from our true self, and what is also actually real and possible in life for us all equally to experience Ultimate Reality. We are always "in" That anyway, whether we consciously realize it or not. Anyone who accurately studies the long enduring relationship between psychosis and the mystical in our human history (both modern and ancient) will clearly educate you otherwise. Psychosis stems much deeper into (or rather from) the collective subconscious to be merely written off as nothing more than just delusion and hallucination resulting from the surface (tip of the ice-berg) of physical brain chemistry out of balance, or rather, in the “acute” state of being. Maybe modern Western “materialist” psychiatry should seriously go back to school and study our Shamanic & World Wisdom Traditions closer for a better, far more accurate definition/diagnosis of what psychosis “really” is – “a deep submergence into the collective subconscious of us all.” One of the main reasons why messianic features are so common to psychosis - "The Jesus Syndrome" as it is very demoralizingly known in the industry. Insight: Hallucination of psychosis is the projecting forth of subconscious impressions and influences upon the external senses – the dream state coming forth upon the awake state. And the reason why the experiencer becomes so scared and confused (deluded) in such a state is because they do not have the human-spiritual maturity and experience to cope with such overpowering archaic and abstract impressions coming forth from the deeper collective subconscious. © Spencer Perdriau
But always remember, our true self (The Observer within us all) is always present there in us behind it all, no matter how much disruption is occurring at the lower levels of reality and within the individual. Spirit (The Mystical), Our True Self, is the only (Crown) Principle of reality that does not corrupt, and does in no way discriminate who is acceptable for mystic union. Due to our own ignorance and misunderstandings (about what is real), only we humans sadly do a very good job of that!
…If we are open enough and of a “sensitized” disposition towards such things, grace can come into our life at any moment to bring us into Mystic Union (the essential relationship between active and Passive action). This is very much the situation with many misdiagnosed psychoses – a premature quickening into the mystic state and identity. Psychosis, in many cases, is more mystical than delusion then we ever dare to care to give the true outspoken credit for... If you are looking for something far more sincere and hopeful concerning mental wellbeing, I encourage you to study the Shamanic and ancient traditions of our world, that have stood the test of time, far long before the very narrow, very limited window of modern Western “materialist” psychiatry.
As much as this knowledge is unaccepted before its time, I predict (sadly) it will take a least another 100 or so years before the spiritual and mystical becomes (resurfaces) mainstream knowledge to Western psychiatry – a truer and more humane psychiatry based on compassion, acceptance and equality.
For further education on this, there are many credible online resources to be found that endorse the above perspectives. Google well! The works of Carl Jung, William James and Joseph Campbell would be “good” places to start.

Always remember, both in Life & Spirit, God does not prejudice who He decides to grace upon His Presence with, no matter what a person's circumstances in life are - physically, mentally, emotionally. In many proper-greater ways, people in a suffering state are far more open (meek and humble) to receive The Lord. Why? Because their ego boundaries have been very much tested, conditioned and "loosened" by the trials and difficulties of relative life.
Thanks kindly for expressing that, Mystic Tourist. It makes me feel great compassion and thanks towards you for sharing that with me.
Mystic Blessings, Always,
Spencer
Spencer,
Thank you for your insight. Poor communication is a familiar companion for me. It is I think an emotional intelligence issue. I am of a mind that anyone can do what I am what I able to do and so I have refrained. Divinity is a gift we all share and I do not feel that I should take the walk. It lends itself to poor communication and a long and angry history. I know the walk but have not taken it. A long history, it is true there is no such thing. I do believe that the decision to walk will be made and that it will make a difference. I am working on it. Thanks again for your insight.
Grigori, we will get together. I am looking forward to it.
Dear brothers Mystic and Spencer,
Thank you both so much for this hearty, meaty dialogue. You are both wonderful inspirations.
We think we begin to undertand Spencer's points in reply to Mystics' comments.
If we understand, then Spencer is remninding us of a lesson we often forget, the mistake of operating with innacurate labels. We think Spencer means that a person cannot or should not be labelled psychotic, but only that a person may be described as being in a temporarily psychotic state.
If we look back through our own work we find we are guilty of perpetuating this sort of cognitive error in which we rely on labelling conventions and applications that are too often only grossly innacurate at best, and which can be very damaging, not only to ourselves for perpetuating and maintaining our habituation to faulty cognitive strategies, but damaging to the people to whom we carelessly mis-apply labels as well, because we may accidentally condition them to behave according to their stereotypes of the labels we mis-apply to them, thereby helping delay their recoveries.
We are so grateful to both of you, our brothers, for enabling us to do better with our future work.
Thank you Mystic and Spencer.
Mystic, we do hope you will be in touch more directly sometime.
Spencer,
Wow! Right back atchoo bro!
You really nail everything well with your two videos. Concise, clear, demystified, and yet still mystical.
Truly loved your work!
We already forget where we may have sent you with earlier links so we will only risk reiterating our very best,
our blogs about Our Future History, How the Earth Made Peace, and our videos of our blogs.
We have a web page we need to get a host for, it is composed in Excel, with dependent files in separate folders.
We need a free host, as we are pretty clearly living rather below the poverty line at the moment for our community on the border between Oakland and Emeryville in California.
We would appreciate any mentorship anyone is able to provide in this direction, however, Spencer, we could specifically link your videos in partial reciprocation for any help you may be able to provide in this matter.
Thanks, and thanks again...
Blessed be
Namaste

Hi there Grigori and Mystic Tourist :))
Thanks kindly for both your feedbacks.
@ Mystic Traveler: The "psychotic person" (bad labeling) is not psychotic 24/7 period. From my experience, psychosis is episodal, not a constant in human experience of life, and thank God too! Eventually, even psychosis will exhaust itself of its very overwhelming features, and with proper medication (certainly not over medicated) this will speed the road back to recovery - regular brain activity "acceptable to societal function" - to say nothing of shamanic episodes/experiences. About labeling, we can only truly label ourselves of what is of our true nature and essence, any other labels (of illness and disability) are not of our true self/nature. I have never come across a "cancer" (person in essence) in my life, but I know many people who have been deprived of their true nature and wellbeing by the tragedy of cancer. This is the distinction - cancer is an illness, not a person. As some famous actor once quite rightly said, "See the person, not the illness." Just as there is no such thing as a "schizophrenic" as that would be making them to be who they really are in essence, but I have met many "people" who do and have "suffered from" schizophrenia. Only when we find "cures" to such things will "bad" labeling cease to be. When it comes to labeling, it is all about what is really real and of our truest nature, certainly not to be labeled by anything lower that "deprives" us from that, and of our dignity and equality to/with others.
@ Grigori: Wow! There's a lot of good info you've put towards me there, and I will certainly check it out in due time. Suffice to say I really liked your quotations on how the world, in general, is mad - framented and separated from being and knowing out True Self, and the many social and global damages that have resulted from that disconnection. Regarding that, I have a neat little quote of my own that sums this up rather well. It goes...
…In a very real sense, we all suffer from a spiritual schizophrenia. For having suffered the fall into relative life experience, we are all deluded into the illusion of separation and fragmentation from the ultimate nature of reality – That of Unity in and as Absolute Being. As a human of relative nature, we all suffer from delusion and ignorance, until we awaken to our Ultimate Nature. Spiritual Sanity. Or rather, Saintly Spiritual and re-membered in God.
Thanks again to you both for your feedback. Do stay in touch, as it is always nice to commune with people who are sincerely interested.
Peace and Blessing from Spencer
Oh and PS: thought you may like my short films on my profile page "The Eternal Presence" & "Mystic Unity", when you have time to watch them.
Dear brother Spencer,
We would like to thank Mystic Tourist for bringing your blog to our attention. Your efforts to recontext how we understand psychosis and its relationship to divine inspiration are well appreciated.
You may enjoy reading some of our articles which touch on this subject, we will append links to them below.
We think a major aspect you may have missed in your blog is the frequencey that people with genuine spiritual awakenings or awareness are misdiagnosed with mental illnesses.
We spent several years ministering to homeless people who often appeared schizophrenic or psychotic. What we learned from their journeys taught us a great deal about our own journey.
We enter into a brief discussion of one mechanism that may contribute to these misdiagnoses in part 8 of our new project 'Our Future History, How the Earth Made Peace'
We hope you will enjoy some of our views on the matter of the relationships of spiritual and mental health.
Our relevant articles are:
008, How the Earth Made Peace, Part Eight, Memetic and Noetic Sciences (VIDEO) |
The memetic sciences video explains a key mechanism in the human psyche that presents as depression, schizophrenia, or psychosis, depending on the state of balance of the subject.
Our point would be that all of these states may really be healing states, we do not regard madness as an affliction so much as a blessing.
It is in the depths of our 'madness' that we begtin to perceive a deeper reality, something we lack any adequate language to describe, hence we may appear mad if we try to speak about our inspired perceptions regarding the nature of reality and the Divine.
It might not help to point out that our entire civilization is insane.
If there are any local pockets of sanity in the world, they may be very rare, if they exist at all.
Our civilization is insane from our points of view because it is extremely destructive to itself, to its citizens, to their environments, and to the entire world at large.
If, as we contend, we are all mad, then there may be no grounds for judging what is not mad.
Enjoy!
Namaste
