Join this worldwide initiative; Create a Peace Barong in your community.

A Barong is a life-size animal figure such as a lion, tiger, boar, snake or dragon that makes a dancing pilgrimage for peace and prosperity.

The first World Peace Barong was born and blessed in Bedulu Village, Bali, Indonesia during the annual program Sharing Art & Religiosity facing the Samuan Tiga temple where three faiths met for interreligious reconciliation 1,000 years ago. It is adorned with materials initially gifted by 56 individuals and societies from 23 countries.

Creating a Peace Barong is a way of fostering ties of friendship among people of varied faiths and cultures.

It would be wonderful to build a Peace Barong in Dallas, Texas, USA, in connection with our bid to host the 2014 Parliament of the World's Religions. We can solicit advisors from our "first inhabitants" and celebrate the development of present (and future) symbols of faith. Donna has researched aspects of this and we have additional resources who can help.
