I am increasingly disturbed by the kind of anti-religious invective that finds its way into main stream media these days. It seems that anyone with a religious inclination is portrayed as fanatical or is shown in some way to be psychologically impaired. Is this happening elsewhere in the world or just where I live?

Dear Julien Hammond,

We are facing the same distubance in Pakistan as well.

Let us think its solutions and act with some practical initiatives.

Is it possible for you to join hand together.

Yes, my friend. Through the help of this network let us join hands as religious people of the world, even if in different parts of it. I write to you from Canada. Where I live there is a sizable Pakistani community. Receiving your reply encourages me to talk things over with some of its members. How else shall we proceed with practical initiatives?

In my opinion, the best way to address a problem is to look at it from as many angles as possible.  So, in this context, we should try to consider what exactly is driving the media to take such a stance.  It's in human nature to generalize and maybe the generalizations given to religious groups are creating fear in people's hearts.  With so many religions, many of which claim superiority and deny any truth but their own, the common non-religious person may see the best option being to dismiss all of them.  It is true that many social injustices, prejudices, and even wars have resulted from religious fervent.  So maybe the best way to solve the issue of media opposal of religion is to show the world that religious groups can collaborate.  To show the media and the common person that there can be peace among different believers and that we are able to consider liberty and freedom of expression as first priority even if the way those freedoms are exercised don't match up with our individual beliefs.
