Hi everyone,

First let me offer, one of the strongest beliefs I have is that we make progress through small actions. My first goal was to preserve as much of the Pagan Presences from the 2009 Parliament as I could. That task is now complete. I have finished that sharing, and I have some photo's and such.

As far as Goals, that is something that is chosen individually, as I have said before, the Parliament makes no mandates on us. So in this, we must each choose our goals and feel free to share them and to offer assistance as we can.

The No. 1 problem for me at the Parliament was the lack of presence of our groups. So I have a goal in 2014 to have a better Wiccan presence, more representative of this subset. I am hoping that others follow and work towards creating a presence for there groups. I do not believe a monolithic presence by a few Pagan Leaders is the best thing.

In creating that presence, I am exploring the entire spectrum of Interfaith World Wide, as I have probably the largest global presence of Wicca in the world. I have connections across the board, and that we need to find ways to Interact with the world. This is my goal, and one reason I created this group.

So the goal of this group is to share our projects, support each other when possible, and find ways to create a stronger, healthier presence in 2014.

Blessings
Ed

Step by step, we need to build purpose and presence... for whatever I can achieve, I'm here. There is a point at which we have to stop lining the walls watching, and start being those people watch and listen to. Of course that takes a certain amount of talent... a lot of hard work... and a dedication to an idea that not all people have the ability to match. Let's all do what we can to make sure we have a voice.

Well then, let's find out what we have to work with. How about everyone (except Ed) put up a few words about what they have to offer?
Hi Ed,
I support you in looking forward to 2014 and I see there have been some discussions about interfaith dialogue. I am all in favour of this, though mindful of the difficuties too. This might be encapsulated by something said in the panel on Global Ethics when the represtative of the Yoruba tradition said, ' The problem is the book.' The established monontheistic religions do things ' by the book.' But just as the high level of academics and Ethicist on Global Ethics are seeking to define strategies which bridge the seemingly impossible divide between the people of the book and the people of no book, we should do the same.

Paganism is difficult for outsiders who come from a book tradition where everything is already laid out - there are answers for everything. Paganism is diverse not unified.Yet it does support core values which are probably recognised across all groups.
Arising from indigenous spirituality, paganism places the earth and life upon earth, as its creed. This could be seen to contrast with traditions basing their faith in heaven, the life to come or even in transendence of the body and earthly passions.
An earth based spirituality has never been more important and this shared concept could become a meeting point with mainstream religions who are also facing up to the environmental challenges. Even the word 'pagan' still carries negative connotation for outsiders, yet it simply means 'country dweller.'
Speaking personally the workshop ' Men who Love the Goddess' was outstanding. It raised many issues but at its simplest it showed how the pagan path creates fully authentic men, emotionally intelligent, shining with earth light. This world at large need this.
My own work is rooted in the Khemetic and Hermetic traditions and in Mystery School, this taks me into the pagan philosophy of the ancient world but that's another story.

Traditionally trying to organise pagans is like trying to knit gravy !! but it is surely time to come out of the closet, speak up for ourselves and join the world debate.

PS - You have done a great job of bringing together all the Pagan Moments of the Parliament - thanks
