AOK (Acts of Kindness Weekend
Hello my Brothers and Sisters in Peace!!
I am really excited to share with you an initiative that you can participate in and together the Women of Women's Interfaith Initiative can do as one!
Our Sisters at Women Transcending Boundaries in Syracuse New York hold a vision of a weekend where everyone in the world practices excessive acts of kindness and compassion on the same weekend. I know it is fair to say that we all pray for this human behavior on a global scale every day of the year, but, let's start with one weekend for now!
That weekend is Sept 11th and 12th. SARAH has embraces the same vision and we are empowered to find ways to mobilize our community out to Acts Of Kindness and we hope you will join us too.
Some of the ways we are practicing A-OK Weekend are:
Setting up a table in our local mall (with management's approval) and inviting people to share with us their ideas of Kindness and Compassion and then sharing with the world thru our website and thru The Charter for Compassion's Website.
Giving out Free Hugs at the local beach and handing out rubber bracelets we are having made that read "Be Compassion"
Doing a food drive for the local food pantry
Inspiring our community to Think Kinder, Smile More and Pray a little harder for peace.
Please let me know if you want to join us and what your ideas are or use our ideas!! It does not take much but imagine a world where everyone is kind, all at the very same time. What does that feel like?
