Hello Women of Spirit and Faith! We have started a group for the mentor network on Peace Next called Two or More. We hope to meet you there and continue dialoguing!

Rev. Cheen - can't wait to listen to Naomi Tutu's talk!  Love the questions you pulled out of the TED talk; as the Spirit moves our gathering later today, we may begin dialoguing on these as well.  The whole idea of Story would be a wonderful topic for our next local gathering in any event.

It's particularly interesting now as I am in the midst of a course entitled "Rhetorica: Great Sacred Loves & Poetry of Beauty"  One of the responses I've received already speaks to a need that we as women have for entering into both our deep, deep listening as well as using our voices to tell our stories.

My deepest gratitude to you all for the rich opportunity I have been granted to be a part of this story-making, story-sharing time!  I am humbled and blessed.

Not to be missed! Naomi Tutu's pragmatic yet thoughtful talk weaved with love, moving us into "be the change"!

Missed! Naomi Tutu's down to earth attitude and jovial laughter!

Sonia, I watched that TED talk in awe. The questions that surfaced for me after watching were these (I blogged about this earlier):
  • Who gets to tell the story?
  • Who gets to broadcast the story?
  • Who gets to underline emphases in any fact, fiction or moral of the story?
  • Who gets to associate the characters with quick sketches of stereotype?
  • Who gets to name the fictional protagonist and antagonist?
  • Who are the real protagonist and antagonist?
  • Who gets to imply good or evil surrounding the language of light and dark?
  • Who gets to impose the choices, or lack thereof?
  • Who gets to embed cultural, generational and other biases, whether unexamined or intentional, in the story?
Be your stories, the many and the evolving.

How exciting! The regional circles and the mentors network -- now the possible interweaving between them!

We didn't plan on sharing this new WSF Regional Circles Facebook page until later, but now it looks like the right time! Please post and share there if it makes it easier for the circle conveners.

Laura, other than Lynda Terry here, Joy Adams and Meredith Tenney also expressed interest in creating sister circles. Many more women wanted to create/continue circles in their area that can become a part of the WSF regional circles.

Please join the May 24th teleconference call at 5:30 PM PST to share and to build those bridges (rather than dams as Naomi Tutu said-- standing by for her audio to upload)! And likewise with the Mentors initiative and Young Women Leaders Council!!

Love the You Tube. Such a powerful message to remember - there is not just one story! Thanks for sharing it.

Fantastic! There is something about these questions that really call to women. You may be aware that we are editing a book using these questions - Women Spirituality and Transformative Leadership: Where Grace Meets Power. In addition to the 25 essays by a diverse group of women, we are looking for brief quotes from women who have also engaged with the questions.  So do keep us posted!

BTW, I'm playing this YouTube video (The Danger of a Single Story) during the first part of the gathering.

The physical circle will be in Northern Vermont (about 45 minutes from the border of Quebec).  But I'm also a D. Min. student at Wisdom University, plus am taking an Integral Christianity course on-line from Integral Life; there are fellow students through both who are interested in responding to the Alchemy questions and are e-mailing them to me.  The Wisdom University administrators and my instructor for the IC course both asked me to share responses on their respective Facebook pages, as well.

This is very exciting news indeed! I, too, will be thinking about you tomorrow. What part of the country are you in? We are eager to hear about your conversations - from you and your attendees - so please encourage sharing online, too.
