Comment by Ron Krumpos on October 16, 2011 at 2:53pm Bob, there is a topic which might be suitable for the conference on consciousness. From 1959 to 1981 I met 19 mystics, of five faiths, in 12 countries. Most were religious leaders or scholars, but also a Nobel astrophysicist, the V.P. of India, a member of Israel's parliament, a retired police inspector, and the chairman of a global bank.
Much of what those wonderful people taught me cannot be found in books on mysticism. They talked about how their experiences transformed their sense of being to a transpersonal outlook on life. If you think that would be relevant, I'll write a rough draft and send it by email. It is easer than using PeaceNext messages.
Ron,
I will stay in touch with hopes of seeing you in Tucson. Perhaps we can talk about submitting a paper together down the road. Here's one idea I have. Your knowledge of the mystical teachers would be valuable in our qualitative assessment of the open-ended questions on the Spiritual Discernment Scale.
I just heard from Spencer Perdriau and look forward to exploring his work.
Peace. Bob
Comment by Ron Krumpos on October 13, 2011 at 9:17pm Bob, I will try to attend that conference in Tucson. There will be a interesting mix of speakers from various disciplines. I don't have the credentials to present a paper there, but will participate in the discussions.
I see that Deepak Chopra and Leonard Mlodinow are included, who just published their own book together as a follow-up to Hawking and Mlodinow's "The Grand Design" last year.
My commenting on reviews of that earlier book brought 800 downloads of my ebook. I respect Dr. Chopra even though many religious people are critical of his work.
Hi Bob,
Your spiritual education sounds very admirable. I have just posted up my literary work on "The Path to Mystic Union with God." From your comments below, I think you will greatly appreciate it.
Hello Ron,
Good to hear from you.
I have been enjoying the forum and am excited about connecting with others from diverse backgrounds who share my love of seeking mystical union.
I continue to teach at ETBU and do my research in spiritual discernment. I am working on a hybrid version of the psychology of consciousness course and hopefully it will evolve into an online course. I continue to use your text as a supplemental reading in this course. Thanks for making it available to my students.
Fred Newman and I will be presenting a paper at the Toward a Science of Consciousness conference in Tucson in April. I recommend the conference and would love to hear you present your work on mysticism. Here is the link toward a science of consciousness
Thanks for all you do to promote peace and understanding.
Continued success--Bob
Comment by Ron Krumpos on October 13, 2011 at 1:49pm Bob, thanks for allowing me to read your book last year. "Crack in the Matrix" is excellent.
I haven't heard from you recently. My email forum now includes more than 500 professors who teach mysticism on six continents. I hope that you have found their replies to be of interest.
Are you still teaching the class on mysticism at ETBU?
I follow the mystical teachings embodied in Christ consciousness. I learn from my mistakes. I never stop listening. I am thankful for this medium to discuss all mystical teachings. Thank you, Ron.
