Purapravesha of Sadhus and Sadhvis
The purapravesha (entering into the city) of Sri 108 Gunadhara Acharya , the founder of Navagraha Teertha, Varur, 105 Sri Nutanmati Mataji, 105 Sri Namanmati Mataji, 105 Sri Chakramati Mataji, 105 Sri Satyamati Mataji and Sadhvis was solemnized in Moodbidri in the morning on the 25th of January, 2012. The Acharya and his entourage are on their way to Venur, where the Maha Mastakabhisheka of Bahubali is to be performed from 28th January 2012 to 5th February 2012. The people of Moodbidri under the leadership of the Head of Sri Jain Math, Moodbidri, Sri Sri Charukeerti Bhattaraka Panditacharyavarya Mahaswamiji welcomed the Acharya and his entourage in traditional style with poornakumbha and all, at the Bhattaraka Lake at Betgeri and led them to Sri Jain Math in a grand procession. Addressing the gathering in Jain Math, the Acharya expressed his pleasure in visiting Moodbidri known as Jain Kashi. He said he had undertaken a solemn wish to visit Moodbidri at the time of founding the Navagraha Tirtha, and the wish is now fulfilled. Speaking on the occasion, the Head of Sri Jain Math, Sri Sri Charukeerti Bhattaraka Panditacharyavarya Mahaswamiji stressed the need for soulful devotion to Deva, Guru, and Shastra. He said that those who serve holy men realize success in life. Moodbidri MLA, Sri Abhayachandra Jain, Hachadi Jinesh, Kokrady Jayaraj, Patnashetty Sudesh Kumar, Advocate M. Bahubali Prasad and the Jain community of Konaje participated in large numbers. Tomorrow on 26th January 2012, Mahabhisheka of Chandraprabha Swamy is to be held at the Thousand Pillar Basadi of Moodbidri. The Keshalochana of the Acharya and his Dharmopadesha will also be held on the occasion, followed by the benedictory speech by the Head of the Jain Math, Sri Sri Charukeerti Bhattaraka Panditacharyavarya Mahaswamiji and other saints. A bulletin from Sri Jain Math said that the Purapravesha of 108 Prarthana Sagar Munimaharaj, who is on his way to Venur, will be solemnized on the 27th of January, 2012.
