Ancient Slavic Native Religion
I have attended the Parliament of Religions:

Local Religious Community / Interfaith Affiliation:
Polish Native Church

I have come to PeaceNext looking for:
networking, interreligious advocacy, interreligious exploration, intrareligious reflection, friendship
I am inspired by:
I am inspired by Pre-Christian religious traditions of the Slavic poeples - who make up 1/3rd of Europe and who, in the first century, largely gave up their indigenous religious traditions when they converted either to Roman or Orthodox Christianity.

Ancient Poland Native Religion is one attempt to rediscover the richness of indigenous Eastern European religious culture and seeking to preserve the memory and traditions associated with this ancient religion.
My favorite spiritual places:
Ancient Slavic Native religions errected temples throughout Eastern Europe, including Temples where Swaitowid (God of Light), Dagbog and Swarog (Creator Gods), were worshiped.

Lightening storms reminded the people of the god Perun (Lightening) whilst the dead were entrusted to Weles (God of the underworld). The Slavic Underworld was a place of final rest, evergreen and peaceful (in contrast to the Western Christian belief that the underworld (Hell) was a place of eternal fire.
Interreligious causes I care about:
Indigenous religions
Changes I am working toward in my community:
Increasing awareness in the Polish and greater Slavic communities about their indigenous and original religions
About Me:
I am a health care practitioner, of Polish descent, living in Melbourne Australia, keenly interested in ancient history and in particular, Polish and Slavic indigenous religion.
