Children For Parliament

Children are the future citizens. Don’t they justify a role in shaping their future? Children are more nonviolent and peaceful, more religious and spiritual, more committed to interfaith and pluralism than us. Could it be a lesson for us, the elders?

I am inspired by:
Mata Amritanandamayi, Michael Bernard Beckwith, many spiritual traditions
My favorite spiritual places:
India, Mt. Shasta, Sedona, Santa Fe, Lake Tahoe, Glastonbury. Anywhere in nature. And anywhere that I can experience my inner stillness.
Interreligious causes I care about:
finding the truths we share, where we have common ground
Changes I am working toward in my community:
Building a spiritual community with seekers who are exploring their own personal connection to the Divine
About Me:
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a yoga teacher since 1993. I've always had a passion for weaving personal insight, philosophy, and spiritual concepts into my classes, and have a transpersonal and holistic counseling practice. The calling to ministry has been strong in my life for several years. Currently, I am in an Interfaith Seminary program. I seek ways to bring a broad-based spirituality to the community that recognizes and brings alive the common threads between many religions traditions and spiritual paths.

Hi Connie and welcome friend. Once your opened you’ll have
lots of options in regard to social and organisational contacts
but much more important is what that process touches within you.

Inner longs to be with thee
Outer is the foil
Construct an ark to find the way
By means of earthly toil
But without Your Help it cannot be
For that is the Essential Oil

Whatever your needs, through the motivation of your deeds,
you draw down this Heavenly Oil through understanding
what it is you’ve got that determines the size of your vessel.

Best regards - Hadrian

Namaste, Sanchay -
I have a five year old daughter, and she is one of my greatest gurus. She teaches me about being loving and peaceful all the time, and has me face my anger, impatience, and desire to control constantly. I am really learning to let go and also to establish boundaries without succumbing to anger. So I feel that children have much to offer us. She is a very loving, kind soul. And the innocence of children, their innocent, receptive, forgiving hearts, are a model for us all. Amma, my guru, teaches that - to be innocent like a child, but not childish. So those are some of my thoughts about children as our spiritual teachers. What are your ideas?
Blessings,
Connie
