I have only been to Uluru but the others seem so fascinating.

Ways of the orixas in Latin America

At the Parliament, there was one session on the orixa(orisha) religions in Latin America (Umbanda, Candomblé and Lukumi). This was headed by Rose Sackey-Milligan(lukumi) and Stanley Krippner(umbanda)
Orixa comes from ori - meaning head, sha (xa) means owner. In Portuguese I'd say dono da cabeça.
In Umbanda or Candomblé, we'd find out one orixa who'd be our main guide and we'd also have another one influencing us, so I could be for example:

Ah, Mauritius...the Hawaii of Africa. Most Americans wouldn't have a clue where either country is (but then "America" is most of the Western Hemisphere, not just the U.S.A.). No, I'm not yet familiar with Javanese; there are people on this site who represent religions most of us never heard of. That is one of the features which make it fascinating.
