Pictures from the Day of Interfaith Youth Service

For this year’s Day of Interfaith Youth Service, World Faith teamed up with local students to volunteer with Harlem Grown. If you’re in NY, volunteer hours are every Saturday until June, 10-4– swing by and get your hands dirty doing something fun! (You don’t actually have to get your hands dirty- there are gloves.)

I have come to PeaceNext looking for:
networking, interreligious advocacy
I am inspired by:
People of different faiths tackling service needs in their communities together.
My favorite spiritual places:
Bars and cafes where the real dialogue happens. In the dining rooms of hosts who reveal the meaning of service to their guests. The streets of New York, Cairo, Rio, London, Delhi, or any other city where interfaith interaction can become interfaith action.
Interreligious causes I care about:
World Faith!
Changes I am working toward in my community:
Building an interfaith service network around the world.
About Me:
After graduating from New York University's Music Business program, Frank Fredericks worked a short while in the music industry, managing artists such as Lady Gaga, producing recordings, booking, and founding an independent record label. While doing independent research in Egypt on Christian-Muslim relations, he became inspired to found World Faith, an interfaith community service organization. After developing a action-based model in New York, he traveled to conflict-prone regions finding passionate young people to replicate the model, in places like Lebanon, India, Egypt, and Sudan.

Frank supplements his income while leading World Faith by working as an independent Online Marketing Consultant, consulting non-profits, corporations, foundations, recording artists, and political campaigns on web issues ranging from viral video and social networks to SEO and advertising. Frank is an active blogger, contributing to blogs on issues ranging from business, technology, religion, and music, and is a frequent contributor to the Huffington Post's Religion section. He has presented World Faith to the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Forum in 2010. Frank frequently speaks at conferences about interfaith needs, social entrepreneurship, and technology, and has been interviewed on Good Morning America, NPR, New York Magazine, and various international media outlets.

Frank resides in New York, New York, where he still performs as a professional musician with local artists. He has a love for languages, and is currently studying Arabic and Dari. At home, he has a passion for cooking Italian food.

My name is Engin AKSU. I live in the city Kütahya -Turkey. I work as a Turkish teacher in a primary school. I also research Quran (HolyBook of Islam) and believe the brotherhood of people who believes "only one God". In Quran Part:22 (Hac- Pilgrimage sentence: 40) Allah says"(They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right,- (for no cause) except that they say, "Our Lord is Allah". Did not Allah check one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid his (cause);- for verily Allah is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will)." And Allah says ( Part:2 (Bakara) ,sentence:62) "Those who believe (in the Quran), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." Those are some examples from Quran.

I am the writer of the book named "Divine Brotherhood". "Divine Brotherhood" was published by Red Lead Press in 2007 and it is open to sales in Amazon.com now.
The events in the book take place in London in England. The Preface of the book has been written by Hasan KUŞÇUOĞLU.
Galip Hasan KUŞÇUOĞLU focusses on Love, Peace and Brotherhood for a new start in the life and a new way to live in his books and sayings in the web-site www.galibi.com .
Can you share your thoughts with us by looking into www.galibi.com or searching on him in the frame of Religions' Diologue.
I would be pleased to see your own ideas and thoughts as soon as possible, so that we would like to pray for you to go to heaven.
