Profile Information

Religion / Faith
Yoruba Ifa
I have attended the Parliament of Religions:
Melbourne 2009
Local Religious Community / Interfaith Affiliation:
Ifa Heritage Institute, Oyo, Nigeria
I have come to PeaceNext looking for:
networking, interreligious advocacy, interreligious exploration, intrareligious reflection, friendship
I am inspired by:
The Most High, the Orisas and their manifestations within Nature, Ifa and its ancient infinite sacred oral literature, Ancestors, children, truth-tellers, peace-makers, revolutionaries, and the "coincidences" that reveal the spirit world in our earthly realm.
My favorite spiritual places:
Africa the continent and the Diaspora. Amidst family. Rivers, Mountains, Oceans, Trees, Rain, Rainbows, Wind, Rocks, Earth. Ori, my inner head, the divine within, intuition, choices, greatest potentiality. Emi, divine breath and the daughter of the High God. Chest, the seat of friendship. Legs which enable me to travel and do work. Womb in which my children were begun before I was even formed. Buttocks on which to sit down. Feet on which to stand up and stand for something.
Interreligious causes I care about:
all of them!
Changes I am working toward in my community:
Environmental veneration--this includes all creatures, plants and forcesof nature. Social justice. Repairing some of the massive damage done to earth and humanity through slavery, colonialism and forced religious conversion. Reinstating the ancient identities, languages, medicines and other wisdom of indigenous peoples.
About Me:
Iyanifa. Mother, Daughter, Confidante. Teacher. Learner. Linguist. Listener. Lover. Thankful.
