"It is true that the anger you feel belongs to you. When we assign it to those outside of ourself we are powerless. The anger has good purpose. It demonstrates that we are out of sorts and in so doing affords us opportunity for redress. There is a…"

Advice

Brothers and Sisters,I hope that it is alright that I start a new discussion. I am new to the website and do not really know how the groups work.I have wandered on the spiritual path for a several years and have just recently embraced Buddhism. I love the philosophies and the practices - they hold so much depth, meaning, and relevance. I want to help unify the world for, as it now stands, it is fractured. However, I am also troubled. I want to feel mutual compassion and respect for all people…See More

I have attended the Parliament of Religions:
Never
I have come to PeaceNext looking for:
interreligious advocacy, interreligious exploration, intrareligious reflection, friendship
I am inspired by:
-The world
-The ability to love regardless of ethnicity or culture
-Those who are able to look around and see people, not "them" and "us"
-Compassion
-Mutual respect
-Everybody
-The sunrise
-The sunset
-The reflection of the moon on still water
-Beautiful art
-Cherry blossoms
My favorite spiritual places:
-Any church, temple, or shrine
-Notre Dame
-The hearts of all people
Interreligious causes I care about:
Promoting peace and tolerance of all people. I just want love to replace violence. I want compassion to replace stagnance and indifference.
Changes I am working toward in my community:
Religious awareness and promoting the support of ALL religious holidays.
About Me:
I am currently a student at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas and I am studying History and Religion/Theology. I love religion. I feel that, though many terrible things have been done in the name of religion, faith can and will be beneficial and a powerful guiding force if it is allowed to be. I think that faith should be a unifying factor. Instead of arguing over semantics, let us join together and relish the things that are greater than ourselves - the impacts that compassion, love, kindness, and peace can have on all of our lives.

Dear avyaktha,

True religion never fight in the name of religion- it is our ignorance- aim and object to unity - work at our disposal - let us proceed.
