Interfaith Mediation

I attended my first official interfaith event last week. Of course I've been to events with people of different beliefs, but this was the first one advertised as interfaith. This event was a meditation that was a combination of two different events at my church, Unity North Atlanta. UNA typically has a meditation every Wednesday night, but last week, the Tibetan Buddhist Monks of Drepung Loseling Monastary's Mystical Arts of Tibet tour were there all week constructing a sand mandala (talk about…See More

Children For Parliament

Children are the future citizens. Don’t they justify a role in shaping their future? Children are more nonviolent and peaceful, more religious and spiritual, more committed to interfaith and pluralism than us. Could it be a lesson for us, the elders?

About Me:
My name is Miranda and I'm 17 years old. Over the past few years, I have come to realize how much religious acceptance means to me. I live in an area that is primarily one belief system, a belief system that frequently judges others' faiths. My New Thought beliefs don't usually fit. There have been people in my life that started out as my friends, but then distanced themselves as soon as they realized that my beliefs are very different. No one should be judged by a friend for what they believe. That is why I started Cherokee Youth Interfaith, a website for inter-religious dialogue between teens in my community. Together, we will begin planning youth interfaith events that will encourage, open, accepting communication between today's youth, and tomorrow's leaders.

Hi Miranda, You are welcome to 'Children for Parliament'. These days I rarely visited PeaceNext, sorry for responding late. Please share your views about the role of children in deciding the shape of this planet. They are the future and we should work for our better future!
