Wear a Hijab Day to protest Burn a Qu'ran day on 9/11

I wanted to share this great idea with all of you...in support of our Muslim Sisters and Brothers, and in celebration of Eid, and in protest to the horrific 'church' in Florida that plans to burn the Qu'ran in protest over the faith tradition of Islam, I support WEAR A HIJAB DAY, and I shall wear Hijab on 9/11 in support of my sisters and brothers around the world! Help spread the word to those you know who can/will support and/or advocate this day for us all! One World, One Love, One God, One…See More

I have come to PeaceNext looking for:
networking, interreligious advocacy, interreligious exploration, intrareligious reflection
I am inspired by:
the work of Paul Knitter, John Hick, Perry Schmidt-Leukel, Leo Swidler and Maureen Sier, the Pluralism Project at Harvard University, Carl Gustav Jung and all those who openly dialogue with other faiths and create healing bonds and further understanding
My favorite spiritual places:
Avebury, Kilaeua Caldera, Grace Cathedral, the Haggia Sophia, the Blue Mosque of Istanbul, and anywhere in nature
Interreligious causes I care about:
Scottish Interfaith Council, the Pluralism Project, and dialogue that openly breaks down prejudices, fears and hatred for other faith traditions
Changes I am working toward in my community:
inter-faith projects and dialogues with Muslims, Christians, Pagans, and others in my community. I also openly speak about interfaith dialogue on a number of websites including my blog on religious experience. http://myexistentialjourney.wordpress.com/
About Me:
I rather don't like labels, and think they limit us and our possibilities, but since that is impossible in academia, I prefer to consider myself a Jungian Thealogian. I am a student and teacher of theology and religious studies who specialises in women's religious experiences. I am working on my PhD at the Centre for the Study of Literature, Theology and the Arts, and I also teach in the Neo-pagan and Traditional Religious Studies departments at Ocean Seminary College. I'm involved in a long-term interfaith/intercultural relationship, and work towards opening dialogue with various faith traditions every chance I get. I'm also observing Ramadan this year for both personal and professional reasons. Namaste'

Why I am observing the Holy Month of Ramadan

Posted on August 14, 2010 at 12:00pm 0 Comments

I have a number of mates who are properly shaking their heads and wondering why on earth I would fast for one month...why would I observe a holiday for a faith tradition that isn’t mine? or merely just wondering ‘what the hell is she thinking?’ Some of you who know me well enough might just smile and think to yourself – well it makes perfect sense to me :D In fact, my son asked me this very question…

Dear Sister Patricia,
Thank you for adding me as your friend.
I saw your profile and blogs and I am deeply impressed with your views and hence this contact. In fact, all religions of the world are one and I accept all of them with respect because all of them teach us how to see God which is the only truth and all the rest is maya (illusion).
As written in my profile, I am an illumined Yogi with His grace. The meaning of Yogi means, one who has experienced or seen God in the real form. You can read my various articles in this respect.
www.spiritualengland.org.uk - spiritual resources - Enlightenment - S.S.Yogi
www.spiritualnow.com - wisdom article by Subramania Siva Yogi
www.peacenext.org - three spiritual articles.
And many more in other international websites.
Please go through them and reciprocate.
With blessings,
S.S.Yogi

Warm greetings, Patricia! I host a multifaith internet radio show -- Women of Prayer -- which will launch October 4, 2010. I am looking for dynamic souls to dialogue with. Do you have a strong practice of prayer, or insights about the role of prayer in women's lives? If so, you'd make an ideal guest. And if you've got a passion or a project you'd like to bring more attention to, we would both be well served. Let's talk!
