Why do women have all the fun? Roaring in the woods re-discovering my "wild man" just doesn't do it for me, as either an individual or a group exercise. And twenty minutes in the lotus position just about locks up my knee joint. …

I concur with this blogger's views. Now what do we do with the atheist Australian academic who rolled mock joints with pages of both the Koran and the Bible and smoked them?
Fortunately Pastor Terry Jones (of the Dove World Outreach Centre)…

What did you think of the Parliament?

Hello Paul, Yes I am happy to be a friend on Peacenext.
You asked about the Omega Contemplative group. It started in 1980 by an Anglican Minister, in England. I'm not sure how long ago it came to birth in Australia, but I have been involved in the Melbourne group for well over 10 years. The main focus of the group is to go beyond the doctrines of Christianity and open up to experiencing the Presence of the Divine in our lives, and through meditation and contemplative practices to deepen our awareness of our True Nature , Deep Self, Spiritual Essence. It has it's roots in the more mystical aspects of Christianity but we are not limited in our explorations to Christianity alone , but draw inspiration from many other traditions & spiritual paths. We also foster the creative spirit within, and this is where I find a wonderfully welcoming home for my offerings of Dance as Prayer, & Art as Meditation.
The Parliament in Melbourne was a wonderful experience and I came away with a very positive feeling about the future . I had no idea that there were so many groups of people from many faiths all over the world who were reaching out to one another to find connections and to celebrate their differences - and so many young people. I found this very heartening.
As to specifics - I really enjoyed the session on Meditation, Healing and Neuroscience. That wasn't the title of it , but what the content was about. I am particularly interested in how healing is fascilitated through meditation. I teach a holistic form of Meditation using a variety of different techniques and practices influenced by Dance, Chi Kung, Yoga and other things.
I like your job title : Faith Connections Minister. Is that something you are actually doing or is it still in the formation process ? May your work flourish abundantly, Paul. Blessings, Marilyn
Hi Paul,
Deeply Implicit is an organisation that is involved in many different activities. It supports the books I have written, gives space for reflection and dialogue and allows me to pursue projects such as the Parliament and my latest endeavour in being Program Co-ordinator for the Building Bridges Program-which runs through Secondary Colleges giving students opportunity to meet with students from different faith backgrounds.
Deeply Implicit is very new and very much still finding its identity.
Thandk you so much for your interest. You can look at our website at www.deeplyimplicit.com.
If you would like to find out more about the Awakening Network I'm involved in you can go to www.biamenetwork.net.au. We are in the process of a name change so this website name will change fairly soon to ( I think) www.theawakeningnetwork.net.au. New name, content the same.

Dear Paul,
I'm glad you're intrigued (and approving). My jurisdiction (OCCA) is part of a broader Independent Sacramental movement. We are not under the authority of the Roman Catholic pope. We have our own leadership.
The best way to find out all the details regarding our history, apostolic succession and criteria for ordination is by visiting our web site: www.orthodoxcatholicchurch.org
Blessings and well-wishes,
