I have come to PeaceNext looking for:
networking, interreligious advocacy, interreligious exploration, friendship
I am inspired by:
All mystical traditions in the world
Interreligious causes I care about:
dialogue of religions in general, dialogue of mystical traditions in particular
About Me:
I am the author of the book "The four kinds of enlightenment - love, unity, emptiness and Tao", which is a study of all mystical traditions in the world. It puts forward my own understanding of the types of mystical experiences known to humankind:
1. divine love, as in Bhakti mysticism, and most of Christian and Sufi mysticism - the enlightenment of emotion
2. all-unity (divine oneness), like in Advaita Vedanta, several branches of Christian and Sufi mysticism, Habad Chasidism, Neoplatonism etc. - the enlightenment of intuition
3. emptiness (divine transcendence), as in all kinds of Buddhism, which developed in India, like Theravada and Vajrayana Buddhism - the enlightenment of understanding (nibbana)
4. Tao (divine beauty), like in Taoism, in Zen and other branches of Buddhism, which developed in China under Taoist influence - the enlightenment of perception (satori)

Welcome to Peacenext Raphael.  I am happy to be your friend.  Your book on Mysticism sound very interesting. I have a great interest in all mystical paths - the experiences, writings, poems & prayers expressing the union with the Divine Nature, and the challenges inherent in the search for Truth. I will be away for a while so may not get to check in on Peacenext for a couple of weeks.  Enjoy this great website.
