Seattle Pre-Parliament Events: Interfaith Praise & Open Space

The Thanksgiving Celebration and Interfaith Praise is a pre-Parliament and Charter for Compassion event.
Eleven different wisdom traditions were represented and together inspired the 450 people in attendance on November 22, 2009.

Photos and partial video clips.

Another pre-Parliament event of 100 people took place at the Seattle Center on October 17, 2009. Please go here for photos and open space topics and conveners.

As an ambassador representing the Partner City Seattle, I will attend the Partner Cities reception at MCEC and share Seattle's sessions according to the Parliament's key themes and contact information of the conveners for those who wish to connect. Here are the murals for that event.

Bat Nha: a Koan – an invitation to look deeply, from Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh

released Monday 25 January, 2010

Do not just look for what you want to see,
that would be futile.
Do not look for anything,
but allow the insight to have a chance to come by itself.
That insight will help liberate you.

Is Peace Possible?

War, strife, deaths. The cause of so much of the woes in our world is too often religion. Those who promise heavenly peace unfortunately become the very ones who prevent peace on earth. Peace seems impossible. However, we can help to lengthen the moments of peace and allow more people to savor those moments in this lifetime.

Perhaps as none before it, the 1893 Parliament of World’s Religions stood as one of the great expressions of hope for… Continue

Warm greetings, Reverend Cheen! I host a multifaith internet radio show -- Women of Prayer -- which will launch October 4, 2010. I am looking for dynamic souls to dialogue with, and think you'd be an ideal guest... to talk about the loving practice of prayer. Would you consider a compassionate chat with me?

Thanks for your comments and friendship. A lot is being done for children but a lot lot still needed to be done. More important is the direction in which our efforts are aimed. We think we have the responsibility to shape their future but this approach is rather spoiling their future. We only need to give them a better atmosphere by our own deeds. Send your views and suggestions. Regards.
