I have come to PeaceNext looking for:
networking, interreligious exploration
I am inspired by:
Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, Nobel physicist, who invited me to the University of Chicago's Yerkes Observatory. He introduced me to mysticism and the universality of the Universe.

Swami Nikhilananda, founder of the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Center in New York, who spent many hours privately teaching me that mystical awareness is beyond philosophy or religion.

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, then V.P. of India and later President, who met with me in Lucknow and Delhi and taught that we can be active in this world without being of this world.

Also, a professor of philosophy in Kyoto, a Zen abbot and a Cistercian monk on Lantau, a Quaker missionary in Victoria, Hong Kong, a Therevada monk at Nakhon Pathom, a Hindu priest on Bali, a Vajrayana abbot in Kathmandu, a sadhu/scholar in Lucknow, a Sufi shaykh in Teheran, a professor of political science (and shaykh) in Cairo, a member of the Knesset, a professor of history and a Greek Orthodox monk in Jersusalem, a retired police inspector in Copenhagen, an Anglican bishop in Bath, England, and the chairman of an American global bank in New York: true mystics who I have met and learned from.
My favorite spiritual places:
The Vatican, Jerusalem, Luxor, Varanasi, Nakhon Pathom, and Nara, each of which I visited.
Interreligious causes I care about:
Mysticism as a bridge between faiths.
Changes I am working toward in my community:
Helping others to understand and accept our shared spiritual essence.
About Me:
The only "Ron Krumpos" on the Internet. Retired after a career in sales management for international airlines and luxury hotels. Met 19 true mystics from five faiths beginning in 1959. Seeking to convey their teachings as applicable to contemporary (and eternal) life. They gave me their insights freely, which is why my e-book at www.suprarational.org is free. A divine formula?

Albert Einstein revolutionized physics with his Special Theory of Relativity. His formula, E=mc², states that energy equals mass at the speed of light squared. Perhaps we can reinterpret that formula to help clarify the correlation between divine Essence, matter and consciousness: E=mcf(x). Unlike the speed of light there are no exact measurements for consciousness. In this hypothetical formula, basic consciousness may be of insects, to the second power of animals and to the third power the…See More

The divine is not...

Scriptures, theologians and many religious leaders tell us what the divine is by listing grandiose attributes. Most mystics worship personal aspects of the divine, but they also speak of what it is not. Many of them said that the divine essence is nothing, i.e. no thing, that it is immanent in all things, yet is transcendent to everything. Mystics consider this seeming paradox to be a positive negation.     Avidya, non-knowledge in Sanskrit, is used in Buddhism for our “spiritual ignorance”…See More

The big picture

We often bring our own baggage to this life’s experiences and are so concerned with how we appear that we cannot clearly observe what is directly in front of us, nor what is happening all around us. Some call this tunnel vision; mystics call it spiritual ignorance. When you gaze at life with dark glasses of your self, through lenses that are clouded with your ego and individuality, you confuse the apparent with the real. You must remove those glasses to see this life as it is.     We are so…See More

Some differences

(True mysticism transcends the diversity of religions)     Mystics’ experiences may be quite similar, still their techniques and interpretations varied. Reading about mysticism in Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, the Kabbalah of Judaism, and Sufism of Islam you will find many differences. In this life, people differ.     Schools of mysticism in each religion recognized that seekers had distinctive inclinations. Most aspirants respond best to devotional approaches, many of them were more…See More

Looking beyond

The divine is in you; you are not as yet in the divine. The greatest achievement in life is living in the infinite and eternal within us. Seeking the absolute and ultimate—the mystical quest—is a part of everyone’s life, still we seldom consciously and actively participate in it. You must truly believe in divine oneness and the possibility of reuniting in this life. Belief alone will not bring divine union, but too much doubt will probably ensure not being fully awakened to it.     You must…See More

Reality is One

Divine Reality is infinitely here and eternally now, not within the spatial or temporal constraints of earthly realities. No words can ever describe ultimate Reality, yet a single word might suffice: One. Some people call it omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent; some mystics speak of the One* underlying the many, the Real within all and beyond any of the apparent real. It is what is here and now.     Using Allah, (celestial) Buddha, God, ha-Shem, Ishvara, or other words does not change…See More

I like your comment about re-invigorating PeaceNext. I, like many others, drifted away from at least weekly visits to see who is saying what about areas of religion and the spiritual life which interest me. Apart from State of Formation writers, who appear to prefer to keep their discussions within that peer group, most other earlier contributors seem to have dropped out. Credit to you, you are one of a handful who kept contributing. Maybe PeaceNext is settling into its longterm function, which, while less active than immediately after the 2009 Parliament, might be more sustainable.

Dear Ron,

Thank you for your perceptive comment.  Could it be that during this time of widespread institutional renewals, religion may become infused with renewed spiritual energy and contribute to the uniting of people of goodwill no matter what the tradition?

Best wishes,

Hi Ron, I'm reading your book with interest. I have proceeded along a similar path, having received a spiritual teaching during the last 15 years of meditation, and now planning to publish it. First though, I plan to test it with some research, and make that the basis of a master degree at my local uni. I attended PWR at Melbourne, seeking persons of like mind and authorship of similar material, and found none. I'm very pleased to have this network set up so I can do online what was impossible or at least unattained in person. :-)

It gives me hope every time I find one who can say he or she is a sincere seeker of the Truth or The Supreme Being, Divine Unity or Consciousness. Not very many people in the world today make the difference between institutionalized religions and pure spirituality or mysticism. Or, again, the Path of the Saints. It gives me hope that more and more souls are awakening towards the true purpose of a human birth which is perfect enlightenment or total consciousness. It does not matter what name or word one uses to describe it as long as it gives the individual soul infinite joy, bliss and perfect freedom from involuntary births and deaths. Bhuka Bijumiro-Jjumiro

Thank you Ron for offering your friendship. Your seeking an understanding of what this life is all about is very familiar to me, and I would guess to many others who subscribe to PeaceNext. I did attend the Parliament in Melbourne, and my thoughts were that it has to come down to the grass roots connections amongst faiths and beliefs - this is where true change can take place. But leaders have their role to play in setting an example and leading the way. Look forward to future communications.
May the blessings of the Divine illuminate your heart and your soul.

Hi Ron - I agree about the mysticism - its 'above' thought, links us all [the glue of the universe] - its what we [christians] call the holy spirit. You went straight into it via eastern meditation stuff: most folk in the west are too heavily cerebral and remain in the dogma/behaviour realm. But the ones that do make it have used 'the church' to get there! and we stay because faith and love are fostered by being together. [the stuff in john 14 before Jesus goes to his death] Not to mention playing the organ for them every sunday! - its what you do in a small community of 850.

I dont know HOW to use my photo as a logo - I thought it happened automatically once you uploaded it. [I am IT uproficient - vERY!! - but trying.]
