Lethal Land Mines Continue to Kill Minors written by Zafar Iqbal

Two brothers loved to visit the quiet pasture with their goats and sheep. However, they were unaware that this enjoyable hobby would be fatal for them. Suddenly, they slipped in the mud and were trapped and a hidden landmine went off with a deadly bang. They were killed on the spot. The incident occurred when the world celebrated the 20th anniversary of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines. The victims were playing in a remote village across the line of control (LoC), the disputed border…See More

About Me:
Zafar Iqbal is a freelance journalist, human rights activist and media educator. He holds MA (Media & Globalization) from Nottingham Trent University, UK. He has many other academic distinctions from some of the renowned centres of excellence in Europe and Pakistan. He is also a Chevening Scholar.

Zatar, I like your aims in life and tenacity in brimnging them inyo the public forum. My aim is also to find a way to achieve a world where war is impossible (see my blog: http://bit.ly/bGgbmH). I have written a book 'world without war: made possible by empowered individuals' )http://amzn.to/aSZhi1) which will shortly be available on Kindle. It deals with religious and sectarian communication to enable negotiation for true consensus by removing otherwise irreconcilable verses in doctrines. It finds that negotiation must be an an equal footing, where power-play is not allowed. This has for instance been achieved in Ache, Ireland, Zimbabwe (as a first step), and most impressively in Europe, where the EU was started by two people, Robert Schumann, and Adenauer, who wanted to stop the continual wars between European nations. I see you as a potential ally in this effort.
