Repost: Mother Maya and Ancestral Memories

I wanted to repost Mother Maya's statement on the importance of remembering our ancestors, especially when tragedies occur such as the Haiti Earthquake. Sometimes it is hard to bear our ancetral weight (genocides, colonialization,etc.) I am Dutch Amercican and without Vedanta, an ancient path of knowledge of the Self, I would truly get swallowed up by the anguish of my ancestors' undertakings.
