Spiritual Reflection for Saturday 19th January 2013
It is not necessarily what you do but what you are that causes people to like or dislike you – it is what emanates from you, and whether it resonates with what they themselves are deep down. And sometimes, the awful thing is that if you do good to someone who instinctively dislikes you, not only will you not change their feelings toward…

When naturalists study an animal, they examine the details of its anatomy and physiology and take note of all the characteristics of its way of living and behaving. Spiritual Reflection for Sunday 13th January 2013
Everyone from time to time should go back over the events they have experienced and how they lived them, as well as the people they have met – those who contributed good things as well as those who caused them difficulties. Spiritual Reflection for Saturday 12th January 2013
In order to be clear about the importance of the present day, we have to act as if it was to be our last. Some of you will say it’s awful to be continually thinking of death in that way. Well, it isn’t – living each day as if it were your last does not drive you towards death but towards life. No, the ones walking towards death are those who behave in a superficial, careless way…

Spiritual Reflection for Friday 11th January 2013
Every institution and society that sees the light of day is initially concerned with the building it will occupy, and so we have churches and temples, houses of parliament, the headquarters of the United Nations or the Red Cross, and so on. But we still have wars, as well as injustice, poverty and crime. A few buildings more or less won’t make much difference so long as humans are unable to build monuments of light and love in the…

Spiritual Reflection for Wednesday 9th January 2013
Heaven is not so inaccessible; it is much closer than you imagine. It often gives you signs and intervenes in situations in your life, but you do not take any notice. Or for a few moments you feel something pure and luminous close by, and soon after it fades away: you were not aware of the value of what you received, you allowed yourself to be affected by other influences, and you forgot.
So, from now on, try to be aware how…

Spiritual Reflection for Tuesday 8th January 2013
The beings of light in the invisible world appreciate those who are always hungry and thirsty. Only the greedy are accepted on high. So you can ask for as much as you want. Yes, ask for love, wisdom, peace, beauty……

The Koran
I will be the first to admit that my appreciation of Islamic culture is limited by how little I actually know about Islam. I read about how Islam is like all of the other world religions in that it has a common thread of inclusion and righteousness. That fundamentally all religions are in this way, the same. I would point out that they share other similarities and also that there are some religious movements that are not at all like Islam.
Islam in today's world reminds me of the…
