PeaceNext

PeaceNext is our "social network" for the interreligious movement; it is universal and worldwide. But what if you want to meet with people from your own city? What if you want to connect with members of your own faith tradition? What if you want to start a series of conversations on a single issue (as opposed to a single Blog or Forum discussion)?

The answer is to use a Group.

You can organize a Group around a variety of premises (the suggestions above are a good starting point). When you start a Group you choose its name, description, and location. You can also determine the features and privacy, and whether or not your members can send broadcast messages to the entire group. Finally, if your Group already has a website (say you're from a university theology department with its own PeaceNext group) you can link to it from your Group.

Your action item for today is to:

1. Join one of the Groups that PeaceNext members have started over the last few weeks.
2. If you don't feel like any of those Groups is right for you, then start your own!

What do I have to do to start a new group - people who live in and near Melbourne.
The nearest [already existing] group I am looking for is 'Muslims for Interfaith Action' which has 13 - but I dont know whether any of those members is australian/Melburnians
