Dear PeaceNext Members,

Recent events in the US (Gurdwara shootings, burning of mosques, etc) and in the world, show that we, all of us who participate in the Council of the Parliament of the World’s Religions, have urgent work to do to inform and activate local interfaith efforts to bring about understanding and to journey towards more peaceful, equitable and just  communities.  Now is the time to redouble our efforts together.

There are significant changes in staff at the Parliament, and we, primarily with volunteers, are seeking to do more with less.  Nevertheless, the work of the Parliament goes on with the newsletter, Ambassadors, Interfaith Campaign against Hate and the Listening Campaign.  A recent listening campaign local group attendee said, “Men and women shared their souls in this group” and called the experience an awakening and a resurrection.  So we carry on with this important work.

Through our shared passion for harmony among the world's religions, you know the power of this work. We need your help. Please continue to participate on PeaceNext or contact us if you would like to be involved in the Global Listening Campaign.

Most importantly, we need your financial help.  We have a chance to really turn around the financial condition of the Parliament and fit us for the work ahead if we can raise $75,000 in the next few weeks.  Won’t you do your part by donating now, whatever you can?  Donate on our website www.parliamentofreligions.org, or send your donation by check into the Parliament offices at CPWR, 70 E. Lake Street, Suite 225, Chicago, IL 60601. You can make the difference at this crucial moment. We look forward to hearing from you.

In partnership,

Mary Nelson

The goal of harmony among religions may be more important today than ever before. CPWR, like many other interfaith organizations, relies mostly on volunteers who dedicate many hours to their work. Despite its volunteerism, the Council has many expenses which can only be met by contributions from its members and supporters. The PayPal system, which also accepts credit cards, is secure and your financial contributions will be properly allocated. Give today so the Parliament can continue tomorrow.
