Most people think that because we live monastic lives we seldom make mistakes. This is not so. I don’t know that we could live for even a day without making mistakes. We are all guilty of getting caught up in our own passion and process so much so that we sometimes fail to see the consequences of our actions when we initiate or engage them. We lose so many precious things in this way. And loss hurts. We can ask forgiveness of those whom we have hurt. But in the last instance we must sum up the courage to forgive ourselves. Only through forgiveness can we realize the Shakti of everlasting love and infinite harmony. This power does not change the past, but it releases toxicity from the heart and paves the way for awareness and a happier future.
