I am excited about the publication of my book, but i quickly began to realize that there is no official category for what we do through outlets like Amazon.com. I believe we deserve our own category! So I am starting a campaign to get Amazon to recognize us. I am hoping anyone who has or is planning to buy my book will help this campaign - I'll explain below.
About the book
Reviewed in The Interfaith Observer - to be published May 15!
Ruth Broyde Sharone's engaging memoir and colorful overview of the interfaith peace movement has received endorsements from more than 30 religious leaders around the globe, including H.H. the Dalai Lama. She captivates us with stories of her adventures and mis-adventures in the "minefields" of ignorance and religious bigotry as, time and again, she discovers she must rely on the strength of her personal GPS: her Jewish faith and her willingness to be a stranger.
Producer/director of the prize-winning film, God and Allah Need to Talk, Ruth believes peaceful co-existence is definitely possible among Jews, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists and people of all faiths and traditions--atheists included.
Best-selling author Marianne Williamson says: This book is a must read for individuals who seek to be "collaborators with the Holyl" in the quest for peace.
About the campaign:
It’s hard to promote “interfaith” as a concept when there is no category for it in bookstores, libraries, or on Amazon.com. With your help, we’re hoping to change the conversation by turning an idea into a concrete achievement that will affect public perception as well as academic circles and supporters of the global interfaith movement.
Amazon drives everything, so we’re starting there by launching an interfaith book called MINEFIELDS & MIRACLES: Why God and Allah Need to Talk.
If you have already purchased a copy, THANK YOU, if not, please buy a copy on May 15th.
Why May 15th?
Because currently, the book is under the “Religion” category and if everyone buys on the same day, it will flag to Amazon that it is a “best seller.”
Later, after you write a review and request that Amazon start an “Interfaith” category, it will be taken even more seriously. Reviews are currency and influence on Amazon.com, so please write in your review that you want Amazon to start an Interfaith Category.
Click here on May 15 and order MINEFIELDS & MIRACLES: Why God and Allah Need to Talk
P.S. Once we have a new category, we are hoping it will expand to include all books on Interfaith work.

Comment by Ruth Broyde Sharone on May 19, 2012 at 12:44am Thanks, Ginny for your comment. Whether or not you buy my book (and I hope you will), you can go on line to my book listed on Amazon.com and write them a note that you agree that we need a separate category for interfaith. They will pay attention to what is written in the review section!
Cheers
Ruth.
I like your idea. I have written about ten little books around the same subject - they either go into 'religion' where they end up with atheism, witches and devils, or 'christianity' which is a bit more civilised , but pretty well dominated by american evangelical stuff.
Thanks for the tip, and good luck with the sales.
