Quite late to this but I think it is a very important and interesting topic. Certainly the founding fathers were Christian, at least culturally. As they did not write a 'Christian' document it is quite a stretch to say they intended to create a Christian nation. If they had they would have pronounced it clearly and succinctly. They did not. I think the efforts of the Christian right to confuse religion and politics, religion and science, religion and any thing else they can confuse it with should alarm every good citizen. Hopefully it will alarm enough to make a difference. Thankfully Thomas Ratliff will replace the morally corrupt Don McLeroy on the Texas school board. It is helpful to remember, as we walk through life, that the only qualification for being right, is to think that you are.
