Yes MT, Truth is an absolute always principle upon all reality, right from the top (Absolute) right down to the bottom (relative). As absolute, it applies on all levels constantly. We are not in disagreement here, MT.
Comment by Mystic Tourist on January 10, 2012 at 8:34am Hi Spence,
I do not characterize truth as you do but that is all right. I consider truth an absolute as nothing can exist without it. It is inescapable. We can only pretend to be confused about it. It is not mysterious. I think we agree that truth is this way.
Chanchal,
I was hoping that questioning what the spirit of truth might be would lead to an understanding of it in this comment thread, and it has, thank you. It would seem that the spirit of truth is grace. These spirit's, love, acceptance and grace, I think, give us the simplicity that divinity can be realized. It does seem that we are saying the same thing. Thanks.
Comment by Chanchal Taneja on January 10, 2012 at 3:04am Wel said Spencerji be simple and love the grace flowing leaving all the logic and intellect.Follow the love and grace guiding within and it will be done...............................IK ONKAR SATNAM SHRI WAHEGURU
Comment by Chanchal Taneja on January 10, 2012 at 2:54am THE MORE WE PROGRESS SPIRITUALLY THE MORE LOVE AND COMPASSION WILL SURROUND US AND IN TURN BREAK ALL THE BOUNDARIES PHYSICAL,MENTAL,GEOGRAPHICAL......................AND EVERYTHING WILL BE ONE AS THE SPACE UP ABOVE MAKING US FLOAT IN THAT COMPASSION AS WOULD BE SAB GOBIND HAI SAB gOBIND HAI GOBIND BIN NAHI KOI. THERE IS NOTHING THAT IS NOT SPIRIT.

Mystic Tourist:
I think we get so greatly confused and caught up in the complexities, technicalities and details of life, and "personally try" our darndest to fit it all back together to work it out, that we completely miss the obvious in life. Truth is not the great unknowable mystery/force that is beyond truly knowing and realizing. Truth is not as complex as we make it out to be. No...
Very simply, "Truth" is what is real, actual and so.
This applies on all levels of existence, from the simple to the most profound, from the earthly to the mystical, from the relative to The Absolute - known and unknown.
Mystic Blessings from Spence = ^
PS: I realized this one many years ago now ;-))"

Comment by Mystic Tourist on January 9, 2012 at 8:00pm Mataji, I am skeptical of the need for a new spirituality. What is that? I would guess that people do not understand 'spirit' and that is what is missing. Spirit is what animates us and it creates a gravity of reinforcement and perpetuation. Typically people do not see it, or perhaps more accurately, they ignore and then deny it. Spirit is as an element of creation and yet we assign creation to entities and circumstance beyond our self. The spirit of understanding is acceptance. The spirit of compassion is love. The spirit of truth is... well I think it must be truth. To be honest I have not considered what the spirit of truth might be, and when I do, I think it must be truth itself. I am confident that I am short of realization on the spirit of truth. I wonder what it might be.
Truth, compassion and understanding are absolutes. The only way I know to consider God is as absolute, whatever God is. I consider truth, compassion and understanding, absolutes, as their measure can not be divided. It is a measure that is always singular and always enough. For example a person can not say, I will have compassion for this one but not for that one, and still have compassion. It is only enough for all. Compassion is constant but love is a choice, it is elemental. Love is creative as it allows compassion a real presence.

Comment by Mataji Gauribrata, Rev Eva on January 9, 2012 at 6:29pm Although we are moving toward the global community, we face what seems to be insurmountable obstacles - ecological disaster, economic injustice, on a worldwide scale and widespread violence and warfare. To negate these forces, we must individually and collectively, devote ourselves to building the earth as a spiritual expression, using cooperate action, and combined resources, to awaken to our deepest truths creating a coalition of nations. We must recapture the unity of tribal consciousness, by seeing humanity as a single tribe - and we must see the single tribe, as related organically to the total cosmos. This means that the consciousness of the 21st century will be global from two perspectives. First from a horizontal perspective, in which cultures and religions must meet each other on the surface of the globe, entering into creative encounters that will produce complexified collective consciousness. Secondly from a vertical perspective, they must plunge their roots deep into the earth, in order to provide a secure base for future development. We must develop a new spirituality of the earth and of the material aspects of human existence; for its precisely the earth that is being threatened by ecological disaster and economic runaway destruction. This new spirituality must be organically ecological, supported by justice and peace. The voices of the oppressed must be heard and heeded! The poor, women, children, racial groups and all other minorities; these groups along with the earth itself, can be looked upon as the prophets and teachers of the second axial period. This emerging twofold global consciousness is not only a creative possibility to enhance the 21st century, it is an absolute necessity if we are to survive. (Dalai Lama)... Individually and collectively we have a responsibility to not speak love but be love and who better to receive it then those who know not of it. Enlightenment rides on the backs of the surffering and justifies it's pleasure.
Agreed :)))
