The other day as I walked through Myers cosmetics department, I couldn't help thinking of the young village girl I met in Shan state Burma.
While we spend billions of dollars beautifying our bodies with perfumes, powders, lotions and make up,
Many of the world's poor can't even afford a bar of soap.
Now while I understand an individual need to look and feel special,
I have always looked for the beauty within,
Because it's one's inner nature that shows who we truly are, and not a veneer of cosmetics.
So by all means look a million dollars for a million-dollar occasion, i.e. weddings, debutante balls and the like,
For your day-to-day living, why not save your money and let the beauty of your inner nature speak for itself.
