The Old Motel Project is a film of the transformation and restoration of a city, from brokenness to beauty, as told through the work of four young, ambitious, overly inspired men and one enormous, all-powerful, and incredible God.
On a trip up the West Coast partnering with and assisting churches, we became well acquainted with the story of Epic Life Church in Seattle, Washington. After hearing the stories of brokenness on the street of Aurora Avenue, where the church resides, the idea of creating a film to document these stories became an overwhelming desire, longing to better the lives of broken. However, their trip was nearly over and they were forced to return home.
After overcoming many obstacles, the team of four was able to return to the streets of Seattle just days after returning home, this time with cameras. Stories of drug addictions, homelessness, prostitution, and sex trafficking quickly manifested themselves into realities. Documenting stories, interviews, sights, and sounds of Seattle, the team hoped to capture the brokenness of lives from the streets and Epic Life’s vision of their restoration.
Upon returning, many difficulties arose, including a hard-drive crash causing the team to lose both precious time and information. Yet, the technological troubles were but a speed-bump in the road of this film’s journey. Though material was lost in the process of this accident, the story remains the same; the vision--steadfast; the hope-- unending.
Join us in the story of transformation from brokenness to restoration of the city of Seattle. Join us in the story of beautified lives strengthened by love. Join us in the hope of restored lives.
